CHERNYI is a compact bar located in the center of Kharkiv. The interior is defined by a restrained palette and precise detailing. Darkness is used as a structural element, allowing light and material to shape perception. The space focuses on clarity, balance, and the expressive potential of minimal means.
CHERNYI — компактний бар у центрі Харкова. Інтер’єр визначається стриманою палітрою та точними деталями. Темрява використана як конструктивний елемент, що дозволяє світлу й матеріалу формувати сприйняття. Простір побудований на ясності, балансі й виразності мінімальних засобів.

Located on the ground floor of a residential building in Kharkiv’s historic center, the space was stripped back to its structure. Partitions were removed, floor-to-ceiling windows installed, and a direct entrance to the street added. Two central columns defined the spatial rhythm and divided the bar into functional zones.
Бар розташований на першому поверсі житлового будинку в історичному центрі Харкова. Простір очищено до структури: демонтовані перегородки, встановлені вікна від підлоги до стелі, організовано окремий вихід на вулицю. Дві центральні колони задали просторовий ритм і розділили бар на функціональні зони.

Концепція досліджує сприйняття чорного як матеріалу. Темрява розглядається не як відсутність, а як субстанція, що підсилює контраст, точність і віддзеркалення. Поєднання матового піску та полірованої сталі формує атмосферу — дослідження текстури, пропорції та контрольованого світла.

The interior layout follows the rhythm of two structural columns. They organize the bar into four clear zones — entrance, counter, seating, and service. Spatial hierarchy is created by light and reflection instead of walls, ensuring visual continuity and functional efficiency.
Планування побудовано навколо двох конструктивних колон. Вони організовують простір у чотири чіткі зони — вхідну, барну, посадкову та технічну. Просторова ієрархія формується світлом і віддзеркаленням замість стін, забезпечуючи візуальну цілісність і функціональну ефективність.

Технічні системи приховані за підвісною стелею з нержавіючої сталі. Вона маскує вентиляцію й узгоджується з точною геометрією бару. Безшовні стики та стримані пропорції підтримують чистоту й тишу. Кожен елемент підпорядкований загальній логіці мінімального втручання.
Together with The TSEKH, a new black quartz coating was developed — a surface that absorbs light and creates depth. In contrast stands brushed stainless steel: cold, precise, professional. Its reflections animate the space, shifting tone throughout the day as light moves across surfaces.
Разом із The TSEKH створено чорне кварцове покриття — поверхню, що поглинає світло й додає простору глибини. У контрасті — шліфована нержавіюча сталь, холодна й точна. Вона підкреслює професійний характер бару й створює рух через віддзеркалення, змінюючи атмосферу протягом дня.
